NXT TakeOver Brooklyn 3 Drinking Game

NXT TakeOver Brooklyn 3 predictions by way of a drinking game. Seriously, don’t try this at home.

Since I’ve moved to personally just covering NXT on this site, NXT TakeOver Brooklyn 3 seemed like the right time to launch the first (of hopefully many) NXT themed drinking game posts. So, without any further ado, here is Turn Heel’s NXT TakeOver Brooklyn 3 Drinking Game. Considering SummerSlam is 19 hours long this year, be sure to pace yourselves!

As usual, this game is presented as a fun way to try to predict the results of an upcoming NXT TakeOver event. We obviously do not advocate actually playing this game due to the extreme nature of the challenge presented here. In other words, don’t try this at home.

Standard Turn Heel drinking game rules apply for the NXT TakeOver Brooklyn 3 Drinking Game: If you’re playing on “Easy Mode” take a sip of beer or of a mixed drink when the game calls for it. If you’re playing on “Hardcore Mode” take a full shot of hard liquor or down an entire can/bottle of beer each time the game calls for it.

ADDITIONAL DISCLAIMER: Only partake in the consumption of adult beverages if you are of legal age in your locale! (Hi, Facebook!)

NXT TakeOver Brooklyn 3 Drinking Game

No special “Kickoff Show” section because no matches ever happen on the NXT TakeOver Kickoff Show. At best you get a wrestler or two joining the panel. So, we’ll just jump right into some NXT TakeOver General rules

NXT TakeOver Brooklyn 3 Drinking Game – General Rules

Take a shot:

If the Iconic Duo of Billie Kay & Peyton Royce join the panel

And if someone randomly walks behind Billie Kay & Peyton Royce during this to set up their next feud by “ruining” their Kickoff Show appearance

Each time you see someone arriving at the arena during the Kickoff Show

If any NXT alumni (looking at you Finn Balor, Sasha Banks, or Shinsuke Nakamura especially) are shown in the crowd during the show

Take 2 shots:

If Adam Cole is shown sitting in the crowd at some point during the main show

If a non-wrestling celebrity is shown in the crowd during the show

If any main roster wrestlers invade the show like Rollins did in San Antonio

Take 3 shots:

If anyone actually working a match appears on the Kickoff Show panel

If Kayla Braxton actually successfully interviews Velveteen Dream at any point during the Kickoff Show or main show

Take 4 shots:

If Triple H introduces the show from the middle of the ring and reminds us that “We Are… NXT!”

Take 5 shots:

If Regal threatens anyone with future match stipulations during the show

Take 10 shots:

If the Young Bucks are shown sitting in the crowd at any point during the show

Take all of the shots:

If Kenny Omega is shown sitting in the crowd at any point during the show

NXT TakeOver Brooklyn 3 Drinking Game - Johnny Gargano, Andrade Cien Almas

Johnny Gargano vs. Andrade Cien Almas (w/ Zelina Vega)

Take a shot:

If DIY’s music hits first before slam cutting into Gargano’s new theme

Each time Cien attempts to tranquilo, but Vega yells at him

Each time Vega pulls Almas out of the ring to give him a hard time

For each “Johnny Wrestling” chant that breaks out

Take 2 shots:

If someone in the crowd is shown in a DIY shirt with Ciampa’s name crossed out

If Almas gets the advantage and Vega yells “FINISH HIM” at Cien as if she’s the announcer from Mortal Kombat

If Gargano taps Almas out

Take 3 shots:

If Gargano goes over by pinning Almas

If Ciampa comes out on crutches in an attempt to distract Gargano

If Almas successfully tranquilos despite Vega’s objections

Take 4 shots:

If Almas gets a clean victory

If No Way Jose gets involved for any reason

Take 5 shots:

If Vega assists Almas in getting the win

Take 6 shots:

If Candace LeRae gets involved to even the odds for Gargano

Prediction: Gargano wins. I don’t see any other outcome that makes sense. Almas losing after being too “tranquilo” or wasting time and thusly getting heat from Vega on TV the next few weeks is probably what they’re going for here. Also, having Gargano lose his debut singles match at a TakeOver is something I’d expect if this was a main roster PPV – but it’s not so… yeah.

NXT TakeOver Brooklyn 3 Drinking Game - Aleister Black, Hideo Itami

Aleister Black vs. Hideo Itami

Take a shot:

Each time a stiff kick is delivered by either guy

Each time Black calmly sits cross-legged

Whenever Itami does something “heelish”

If Black being undefeated is mentioned

Take 2 shots:

When you realize Mauro Ranallo is calling a match between KENTA and Tommy End on WWE TV

If Black’s special entrance involves a live band playing him to the ring

For each GTS that is teased by Itami

Each time a Black Mass Kick narrowly misses Itami’s head

Take 3 shots:

If Black’s entrance is Balor / Wyatt / Undertaker level

If Black puts Itami away with a Black Mass kick and remains undefeated

If Black wins by way of Itami getting himself DQed

Take 4 shots:

If Itami hits a GTS on Black but Aleister kicks out

If Kassius Ohno gets involved for any reason

Take 5 shots:

If Hideo Itami shocks the world and ends Black’s undefeated streak

Prediction: Aleister Black remains undefeated. I can’t imagine a timeline where Black’s streak ends here. While it would firmly legitimize “heel Hideo Itami”, that could easily happen by way of Itami going berserker somehow and getting the match thrown out. But really, Black Mass kick after a hard-fought match seems to be what Triple H has ordered here.

NXT TakeOver Brooklyn 3 Drinking Game - Authors of Pain, SAnitY

Authors of Pain (c) vs. SAnitY (NXT Tag Team Championship Match)

Take a shot:

If AoP don’t have Paul Ellering with them for this match

If SAnitY is represented by Alexander Wolfe & Killian Dain

If SAnitY enter without Nikki Cross

If either team attacks before the bell

Each time the crowd chants “Shave your back” at Dain

Take 2 shots:

If SAnitY is represented by Alexander Wolfe & Eric Young

If Nikki Cross and Paul Ellering interact at any point

If William Regal has to get involved either during or after the match

Each time Alexander Wolfe does his “mosh” thing in the ring

Take 3 shots:

If SAnitY is represented by Eric Young & Killian Dain

If AoP retain after a Last Chapter

If Nikki Cross gets involved in the match

If the “Freebird Rule” is mentioned during the match

Take 4 shots:

If SAnitY go over clean

If Heavy Machinery get involved for any reason

Take 5 shots:

If SAnitY go over by cheating in some fashion

Prediction: AoP retains. I’d love to see SAnitY go over here, but I don’t see that happening quite yet. Heck, I could be wrong though. Maybe there WILL be another Superstar Shake-Up after Summerslam and AoP is primed for a Raw debut very soon. And within 3 months they’ll be split up and we’ll learn Rezar has been Michael Cole’s illegitimate child this enter time. Nah, nothing crazy like that could happen. They’ll be a dominant main roster tag team just like the Ascension before them… oh… wait.

NXT TakeOver Brooklyn 3 Drinking Game - Asuka, Ember Moon

Asuka (c) vs. Ember Moon (NXT Women’s Championship Match)

Take a shot:

If any of the Mae Young Classic competitors are shown in the crowd before this match

If Asuka gets a special entrance for this match

Each time Moon teases going up for the Eclipse

Any time Asuka’s record title reign is mentioned by the announcers

For each “NXT” chant

Take 2 shots:

For each near fall on Asuka

If Asuka cheats to win, but Regal comes out and restarts the match

For each “this is awesome” chant

For each “women’s wrestling” chant

If this match steals the show

If Asuka taps Moon out with the Asuka Lock

Take 3 shots:

If Asuka retains in some underhanded fashion

If Moon hits the Eclipse but Asuka kicks out at 2

If Moon wins, ending the streak, but it’s by DQ so Asuka retains the title

Take 4 shots:

If Asuka retains by DQ or count out

If Asuka fakes an injury at any point in the match

If the match spills out of the ring

Take 10 shots:

And new…

Prediction: Asuka retains. I’m one of the “Asuka finally gets promoted and vacates the NXT championship” guys. I like Moon, a lot, but I just don’t think they’re ready to take the title off of Asuka just yet. Either way, this match still has potential to be one of the top matches on the show.

NXT TakeOver Brooklyn 3 Drinking Game - Bobby Roode, Drew McIntyre

Bobby Roode (c) vs. Drew McIntyre

Take a shot:

If Roode’s special entrance is “glorious”

If McIntyre attacks Roode before the bell

If Roode retains by count out or DQ

Each time Roode acts like a cowardly heel

Take 2 shots:

If McIntyre gets a special TakeOver entrance

If McIntyre kicks out of the Glorious DDT

If McIntyre hits the Claymore, but Roode is able to roll out of the ring

If Roderick Strong comes out, but doesn’t get involved in the match

Take 3 shots:

If Roode retains (mostly) clean

If Strong attacks Roode getting McIntyre DQed

Take 4 shots:

If Roode retains, but is attacked by Strong on the aisle or stage area after the match

If Adam Cole debuts during or after this match

Take 6 shots:

And new…

Finish everything in the house:

If Drew becomes champ by way of help from Jinder Mahal… and then Heath Slater comes out and we get a 3MB reunion as the show goes off the air

Prediction: Roode retains. The dodgy ending to the go home show leads me to believe they’re going to milk this pairing a bit longer to culminate in a Roode vs. Strong vs. McIntyre triple threat. Strong somehow screwing McIntyre (likely by mistake) out of this title shot seems to be the easiest way to get there. It’s a very “main roster-esque” booking idea so maybe something more interesting is in play here. Either way, I don’t see the title changing here. Roode getting called up due to a “Shake-Up” would leave NXT with Itami and… I dunno, Velveteen Dream as the top two heels which just doesn’t feel right.

Well, that’s that. It’s NXT, which is way less predictable than main roster WWE. So, I totally expect to blow all 5 of these predictions, but hey, maybe you’ll have some fun playing this game (don’t play the game – seriously, don’t).
