WWE Money in the Bank 2017 Drinking Game

WWE Money in the Bank 2017 predictions by way of a drinking game. Seriously, don’t try this at home.

Well, we’ve done it. The WWE Money in the Bank 2017 Drinking Game marks the one year anniversary of the “Turn Heel Drinking Game” PPV prediction posts (started back for Money in the Bank 2016 by Laura Crawford). Once again, WWE hasn’t given us a full card with just days to go until the PPV. Last month, I was forced to spit ball and inadvertently nailed a ton of the stuff that ended up happening. Let’s hope (for your liver’s sake at least) that history doesn’t repeat for the WWE Money in the Bank 2017 Drinking Game.

As usual, this game is presented as a fun way to try to predict the results of an upcoming WWE PPV. We obviously do not advocate actually playing this game due to the extreme nature of the challenge presented here. In other words, don’t try this at home.

Standard Turn Heel WWE PPV drinking game rules apply for the WWE Money in the Bank 2017 Drinking Game: If you’re playing on “Easy Mode” take a sip of beer or of a mixed drink when the game calls for it. If you’re playing on “Hardcore Mode” take a full shot of hard liquor or down an entire can/bottle of beer each time the game calls for it.

ADDITIONAL DISCLAIMER: Only partake in the consumption of adult beverages if you are of legal age in your locale! (Hi, Facebook!)

WWE Money in the Bank 2017 Drinking Game – Kickoff Show

Well, it’s Thursday evening and still nothing has been announced for the Kickoff Show… so, here are some general rules: (wow, I was able to copy and paste that part – nice planning, WWE!)

Take a shot:

If Peter Rosenberg gets tapped to host the Kickoff Show over Sam Roberts

If David Otunga is once again flown in “from the movie set” even though he’s now Raw talent

If Booker T shows up, but doesn’t name a “Shucky Ducky Quack Quack” moment

If Erick Rowan becomes the new Drifter and wanders in and out of the set again

Each time someone refers to Jinder Mahal as the “Maharaja”

If the Singh Brothers join the panel

Take 2 shots:

If Rusev joins the panel

If American Alpha, Erick Rowan, The Colons, The Fashion Police, or Tye Dillinger have a match on the Kickoff Show

If Shane McMahon appears on the Kickoff Show

If Cowboy Bob Orton is shown during the Kickoff Show

If Zack Ryder turns heel on Mojo Rawley during the Kickoff Show

Take 3 shots:

If Luke Harper and Aiden English have a match on the Kickoff Show

If Mojo Rawley, Zack Ryder, or Sin Cara work a match on the Kickoff Show

If Daniel Bryan appears on the Kickoff Show

If any WWE Legends (other than Bob Orton) appear on the Kickoff Show

Take 4 shots:

If any of the announced matches covered in this drinking game are somehow moved to the Kickoff Show

Down an entire bottle:

If Luke Harper works a dark match before the Kickoff Show

WWE Money in the Bank 2017 Drinking Game

Only, five matches, huh? I find that hard to believe. Here’s some general rules:

Take a shot:

Each time the announcers mention “Great Balls of Fire”

If Mojo Rawley, Tye Dillinger, or the any tag teams (excluding New Day & the Usos, obviously) appear on the main show

Each time a MITB briefcase is used as a melee weapon

If Orton vs. Mahal goes on last

Take a celebratory shot:

If Luke Harper works a match on the main show

If we get a PPV edition of the Fashion Files

Drown your sorrows with 2 shots:

If Luke Harper has a match, but loses to Erick Rowan

Take 3 shots:

If this show ends early

If someone cashes in a briefcase successfully during the show

If the Men’s MITB match headlines the show instead of Orton vs. Mahal

Take 4 shots:

If this show somehow runs past 11pm Eastern

If someone cashes in a briefcase and loses during the show

If the Women’s MITB match headlines the show instead of Orton vs. Mahal

Take 5 shots:

If a MITB contract does not get cashed in during the show

Take 10 shots:

If Tye Dillinger wins a match on the main show

WWE Money In The Bank 2017 Drinking Game - The Usos, The New Day

(WWE.com)

The Usos (c) vs. The New Day (WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match)

Take a shot:

If a sign referencing the “Day being H” is shown at some point during this match

If the New Day ice cream bicycle makes an appearance

If the New Day have Xavier Woods & Kofi Kingston work the match

If the Usos cut a weird promo before the match

If Big E feeds someone Booty-Os on the way to the ring

Take 2 shots:

If the New Day go with Kofi & Big E to work the match

Each time you feel like it’s paranoia, but it’s really the Usos

If the Usos retain, but have to cheat to do it

If the New Day hit the Up Up Down Down or the Midnight Hour but somehow don’t win

Take 3 shots:

If the champs retain by way of losing the match via count out or DQ

If the New Day run with Big E and Woods in this match

If the Fashion Police show up to help the New Day

Take 4 shots:

If the New Day become the new tag team champs

If any tag teams besides the Fashion Police get involved during the match

Prediction: I’ve got to go with the New Day here. The combination of New Day as champs and the continued success of the Fashion Files angle could give the SmackDown tag division a much needed boost. Sticking with the Usos really doesn’t accomplish anything so I’ll be surprised if they retain.

WWE Money In The Bank 2017 Drinking Game - Tamina, Natalya, Charlotte Flair, Carmella, Becky Lynch

(WWE.com)

Tamina vs. Natalya vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Carmella (w/ James Ellsworth) vs. Becky Lynch (Money In The Bank Ladder Match)

Take a shot:

Each time the words “history” or “historical” are said during commentary of this match

If James Ellsworth is shown knocked out backstage before the match begins

If anyone from the “Welcoming Committee” teams up with Becky or Charlotte at any point of the match

If Charlotte grabs the briefcase first

Take 2 shots:

If James Ellsworth gets taken out during the match

If Becky Lynch grabs the briefcase first

If Natalya grabs the briefcase first

If Charlotte moonsaults off one of those extra tall ladders

Take 3 shots:

If Tamina does a “Superfly Splash” off of a ladder

If Carmella grabs the briefcase first and Ellsworth has nothing to do with it

If Natalya manages to use a ladder to amplify a submission hold

If Shane McMahon has to get involved at any point during the match

Take 4 shots:

If James Ellsworth grabs the briefcase and gives it to Carmella

If the match has to be restarted for any reason

If Tamina grabs the briefcase first

Take 5 shots:

If this match happens AFTER the Women’s Championship match, thus rendering a same-night cash in unlikely

If Asuka or anyone else from NXT get involved in the match

Prediction: My money is on Carmella, even though I’d love to see Becky win this. I’m assuming Ellsworth will play some role in helping Carmella win the contract, with the dark horse winner possibly being Charlotte. WWE loves to default to Flair in these types of situations so she’s always a possibility.

WWE Money In The Bank 2017 Drinking Game - Naomi, Lana

(WWE.com)

Naomi (c) vs. Lana (WWE SmackDown Live Women’s Championship Match)

Take a shot:

If Lana wrestles in an evening gown

If Lana does a dance routine as part of her new entrance

If Lana uses any of X-Pac’s signature moves

If this match goes longer than five minutes

Each time the crowd chants “We Want Rusev” during the match

Take 2 shots:

If Naomi wins in under five minutes

If the MITB winner cashes in before this match is over, making it a triple threat

If this match resembles something that Meltzer would give “negative stars”

If Naomi somehow manages to get a decent match out of Lana

Take 3 shots:

If the MITB winner cashes in, making it a triple threat, and pins or submits Lana to become the new champ

If Lana wins (clean or otherwise) and the MITB winner cashes in and defeats Lana

If Rusev appears during this match

Take 4 shots:

If Lana does a dance routine with a chair after becoming the new women’s champion

Prediction: This goes one of three ways: Naomi retains, Naomi retains & someone cashes in, or Lana wins & someone cashes in. I just cannot see Lana winning and no immediate cash in from the briefcase winner. I’m going to stick with Naomi retains and no cash in as my official prediction.

WWE Money In The Bank 2017 Drinking Game - Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin, AJ Styles, Dolph Ziggler, Shinsuke Nakamura, Kevin Owens

(WWE.com)

Sami Zayn vs. Baron Corbin vs. AJ Styles vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Kevin Owens (Money In The Bank Ladder Match)

Take a shot:

If Shinsuke’s entrance theme still has the pyro sound with no actual pyro

If Kevin Owens’ face fills the entire ramp LED screen during his entrance

If Sami Zayn hits a Blue Thunder Bomb and tries to ascend the ladder immediately after

For each Kinshasa that connects

If Owens Pop-Up Powerbombs someone onto a ladder

Each time the crowd chants “Holy S***”

Take 2 shots:

If AJ Styles hits a Phenomenal Forearm off a ladder

If Ziggler hits a ZigZag or Famouser off a ladder

If Corbin wins the MITB contract

If Nakamura wins the MITB contract

If anyone takes a Styles Clash during the match

Take 3 shots:

If Rusev gets involved in the match

If Sami Zayn wins the MITB contract

If Kevin Owens wins the MITB contract

If Shane McMahon has to get involved in the match for any reason

Take 4 shots:

If Chris Jericho returns to screw Owens out of winning the match

If AJ Styles wins the MITB contract

Take 5 shots:

If Mahal and/or the Singh Brothers influence the outcome of this match in any way

If Dolph Ziggler wins the MITB contract

If John Cena gets involved in any fashion

Prediction: Corbin. He’s the one who makes the most sense. My dark horse pick would be Nakamura – but we saw him standing tall on the go home show, so that seems pretty unlikely.

WWE Money In The Bank 2017 Drinking Game - Jinder Mahal, Randy Orton

(WWE.com)

Jinder Mahal (c) vs. Randy Orton (WWE Championship Match)

Take a shot:

If Orton goes for a RKO within 2 minutes of the match starting

If Mahal has a special entrance

Each time the Singh Brothers get involved in the match

If someone attacks Cowboy Bob Orton at ring side

If Mahal retains by way of DQ or count out

Chug:

For the duration of all “USA” chants before, during, or after the match

Take 2 shots:

If Mahal has to cheat to win

If Mahal goes over without hitting his finisher

If there is a ref bump spot

If Orton hits “Vintage Orton” on Mahal

Take 3 shots:

If Orton hits “Vintage Orton” on both Singh Brothers

If Tiger Ali Singh is one the “Legends” in the crowd…

… and Tiger Ali Singh aids Mahal in some fashion

If Orton appears to win, but it’s a “Dusty Finish” and Mahal retains

Take 4 shots:

If WWE adds Orton to the “allowed to win in their hometown” club with Naomi & Rich Swann

If Orton wins, but manages to turn heel in the process

If the MITB briefcase winner doesn’t cash in after the match

Take 5 shots:

If the MITB briefcase winner cashes in after the title match and wins

Take 6 shots:

If Orton wins clean with a RKO in front of his friends and family

If a MITB cash in causes this to become a triple threat match

Prediction: I’m going with Mahal retains and no cash in. The way they’re playing up the “Orton in his hometown” thing I can’t believe they’re going to let him win. Either way, since I’m going with Corbin in the MITB, I don’t see him cashing in immediately. His character isn’t very impulsive so I could see them having him as the “Sword of Damocles” for a while on the Blue Brand.

Well, there you have it. Surely, more matches will be added after the time of this writing, but WWE doesn’t announce things in advance for the “B” PPVs any more, so hopefully this serves its purpose enough as a drinking game. I’ll be live tweeting the show during and we will be back with a recap and further commentary late Sunday night and into the coming week. Thanks for reading!
